Feed Your Soul Turkey Trot 5K

Nestled in the heart of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, the annual Feed Your Soul Turkey Trot 5K returns on November 21st to unite community members and runners alike for a day filled with camaraderie and purpose. The race begins at picturesque Golden Gate Park, just off Interstate 70 and bordered by Arvada Street. As participants gather in the crisp autumn morning, temperatures ranging from -2°C to 12°C create an invigorating atmosphere.
This event has grown significantly since its inception in 2017, attracting over 800 runners this year who come together to support local children’s wellbeing through initiatives like the Feed the Future Backpack Program and Community Table. Each participant directly contributes to feeding hungry kids within their community.
The course takes runners on a challenging yet rewarding journey across Golden Gate Park's firm and slightly soft trail conditions, featuring several gentle elevation changes. Scenic paths weave through the park before concluding near Arvada Street at the start area. Volunteers strategically placed along the route ensure hydration with water stops, making it a comfortable experience despite the brisk morning temperatures.
Weather on race day typically features cool averages of -2°C to 12°C and an average wind speed of 6.2 km/h. Moderate humidity levels and ample sunshine for about 8 hours and 8 minutes provide ideal conditions for visibility. Runners are encouraged to dress warmly, as the morning air can feel chilly at around 3.5°C.
