Fire Trail Running Festival

Immerse yourself in the enchanting night trails of Guadalupe River State Park with the Fire Trail Running Festival, an unforgettable race series that promises adventure and camaraderie under the stars. This festival features three main distances: 8K, 25K, and a challenging 50K run, alongside a relay option for teams to unite in pursuit of glory.
The event takes place on Saturday evening with packet pickup from 6 PM followed by an 8 PM start time that requires every participant to be equipped with headlamps. The terrain is rugged yet captivating, weaving through rocky and dirt single-track trails marked with the names of local wildlife such as Barred Owl, Painted Bunting, and Live Oak paths. Despite its challenging nature, the course maintains a relatively flat profile, gaining only 214 feet in elevation per loop.
Guadalupe River State Park provides an idyllic backdrop for this night run, offering runners breathtaking views of Texas’s natural beauty under moonlit skies. The historic average temperature ranges from 75 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, making it a perfect summer evening adventure. Participants are reminded that no cups will be provided at the aid stations; thus, bringing your own hydration system is essential.
For those interested in adding an extra layer of challenge, the Ruck option for the 8K distance introduces weight requirements based on body mass: runners weighing more than 150 lbs must carry a 30 lb. rucksack while lighter participants are required to haul 20 lbs. This unique twist elevates the experience from mere running to an endurance test.
The Fire Trail Running Festival also serves as part of the Texas Summer Night Series, offering racers the chance to save up to 20% on future events by purchasing a series pass before June 4, 2027. The Midnight Monster Pass allows runners to build towards the ultimate challenge – the Noche Trail Run's 40 Miler Race in September.
Volunteers play an integral role in making this event possible; their support ensures that each runner receives aid and encouragement throughout the course. Aid stations are well-stocked with food, hydration, and medical supplies should any participant require assistance during the race.
Upon crossing the finish line at Guadalupe River State Park (3350 Park Rd 71, Spring Branch, TX 78070), participants will receive a Fire Trail Running Festival T-shirt along with medals for all distances except relay teams who compete for championship and runner-up trophies.
