Fit Body Farm OCR 3km / 400m

Fit Body Farm presents the annual Obstacle Course Race (OCR) on Saturday, October 3rd at Wheatrig Farm in Kilmaurs, Ayrshire. This award-winning venue offers an exhilarating mix of terrain and challenges for runners of all ages.
### Event Overview:
The event features a competitive 3km race with divisions open to participants aged five years and older. There's also the option to participate in a fast-paced 400m sprint course, designed specifically for those looking for an additional challenge after completing the longer distance.
#### Race Categories:
- Competitive 3km:
- Open to individuals aged 14+ (part of UK Series and Scottish OCR Series)
- Competitive division for participants aged 10-13
- An open fun wave suitable for all ages, with under-10s requiring adult accompaniment
- Competitive 400m:
- A thrilling course featuring 12 obstacles, ideal for runners age 10 and up.
- This race is part of the OCR Sprint UK Speed series.
### Course Details:
The 3km route winds through fields, short hills, streams (referred to as burns locally), and trails. It includes approximately 25 unique obstacles that combine elements such as crawling, jumping, climbing, and swinging. For those participating in both distances, there's a seamless transition from the longer event into this sprint.
### Series Participation:
To have your results count towards either the UK OCR series or Scottish OCR series for the 3km race, participants must be members of British Obstacle Sports (BOS). Similarly, to qualify for points in the Sprint UK Speed series for the 400m course, BOS membership is required.
### Marshalling and Penalties:
Competitive runners will have dedicated marshals assisting them throughout their run. These officials ensure that participants adhere to obstacle order and penalize any failures with a one-minute time penalty added at the end of the race.
#### Event Schedule:
- 10:00 AM - Open Fun Wave (5+ years)
- 10:45 AM - Competitive Practice
- 11:15 AM & 12:00 PM - Separate start times for female and male competitors aged 14+
- 12:45 PM - Combined start time for youth participants (10-13 years)
- 1:30 PM - Podium awards ceremony
- 1:45 PM & 3:15 PM - Timed runs for the competitive and fun divisions of the 400m race
### Entry Fees:
Competitive entries cost £40 (for ages 14+) or £25 (ages 10-13). The open wave entry is priced at £20. For the sprint event, fees are £15 for those aged 14+ and £10 for participants between 10 and 13 years old.
### Venue Information:
The race takes place at Wheatrig Farm (KA3 2NG), an iconic location known for its challenging terrain and scenic beauty. Participants can use the what3words address "vets.played.reduce" to find their way easily.
#### Facilities on Site:
Basic toilet facilities are available, but showers are not provided due to logistical constraints. It's recommended that participants bring a change of clothes as the course is likely to get muddy and wet during the race.
### Important Notes:
Participants must wear appropriate attire for obstacle racing, including suitable footwear (no football boots or spikes). Entry fees are non-refundable; however, there’s an option to transfer your entry at a £5 fee.
