Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine

The 11th annual Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs return to Fort Tuthill County Park on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Choose 50k (leaves the park to Rogers Lake via Gold Digger and Two Spot trails, returns for final 13k loop), 27k (two loops), 13k (one loop), or 6k (partial Soldiers Trail). Narrow single‑track to wide, well‑maintained forest paths. Well graded for beginners, but altitude keeps it challenging. Camping add‑on available (festival style, tent‑only, Friday 2 PM to Sunday 10 AM). Blackout Night Runs happen the previous evening at the same location — double down with day and night versions. 25% discount on Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course (adult and kids 7+ courses).

• Fort Tuthill County Park, Flagstaff, Arizona — 2446 Fort Tuthill Loop
• Elevation: approximately 7,000 ft (runs top out on a mesa with expansive mountain views)
• Ponderosa pine forest, well‑graded trails suitable for beginners while still challenging for experienced runners
• Start/Finish area also home to Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course (zip lines, rope bridges, obstacles in the trees)

Course Details:

• 50k: heads out of Fort Tuthill County Park to Rogers Lake via Gold Digger and Two Spot trails, returns to start/finish area around mile 23, then picks up a pacer (optional) and heads back out for the final 13 km loop
• 27k = 2 loops of the 13k course
• 13k = 1 loop of Soldiers Trail and Highlands Trail Loop
• 6k = partial Soldiers Trail loop
• Full course map, aid station chart, GPX file available on race website

Altitude & Acclimatization:

• Flagstaff sits at 7,000 ft — runners coming from sea level should arrive 24‑48 hours early to acclimatize
• Courses well graded but altitude adds difficulty regardless of terrain

Camping Add‑On:

• Festival style tent‑only camping right on course, short walk to start/finish
• Valid from Friday at 2:00 PM to Sunday at 10:00 AM
• Camping permits sold separately and will sell out
• Pre‑setup tent and cot rentals available
• Park vehicle in nearby parking lot, not directly next to tent
• For RV or vehicle camping, contact Fort Tuthill Campground directly

Blackout Night Runs:

• Part of the Insomniac Night Trail Run Series, held the previous evening (Friday, June 19) at the same location
• Challenge yourself with both day and night versions of the race (separate registration required)

• 25% discount on passes purchased through UltraSignup during registration
• Adult and kids (ages 7+) courses available
• Passes good for the entire year — do not need to be used race weekend
