Flint's Fabulous 5K - 2026

The Flint's Fabulous 5K - 2026 returns to Kannapolis, North Carolina on September 26th for its third annual run. This event is a part of the Run Kannapolis Race Series and offers two distance options: the standard five-kilometer race or an option with a race shirt included.
Race morning finds participants gathering at Kannapolis's picturesque Riverwalk Park, located off West Main Street near downtown. The setting on that crisp autumn morning promises to be serene, with the park’s trees providing a natural canopy of green and gold leaves. Runners can expect a peaceful start as they begin their journey through the neighborhood.
For over two decades now, Leashes of Valor has been at the heart of this event, working tirelessly to support veterans by training service dogs that will change lives forever for those who served our country. This year marks the 20th anniversary since the founding of Leashes of Valor, and participants can be proud knowing their efforts contribute directly to providing future service dogs without cost to post-9/11 veterans.
The course takes runners through a mix of paved streets and park paths, offering a scenic route that showcases Kannapolis's charm. The race starts at Riverwalk Park with a gradual elevation climb, then returns along the riverbank for the majority of its length before finishing back in downtown. Along the way, there are no aid stations planned; however, water is available at both the start and finish lines.
On September 26th, expect an average temperature of around 22°C with a high risk of moisture, as humidity levels reach up to 72%.
