Footsteps for Families

Footsteps for Families takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM CDT at Busse Woods Groves 5-11 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. This 4th annual family fun run (with virtual option) features a 5K and 1M option, carnival games, food vendors, music, and family activities — all supporting Safe Families for Children and Lydia Home Association in preventing child abuse and keeping families together.

Event Logistics & Participant Information:

• Doors Open: 9:00 AM. Registration & Packet Pick-up: 7:30 AM.
• Race Warm-up: 8:10 AM. Opening Ceremony: 8:15 AM.
• Race Start: 8:30 AM (5K & 1M). Awards Ceremony: 9:15-9:30 AM.
• Kids Activities: 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM (carnival games, bubbles, etc.).
• Snacks, Water, Coffee: Available 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM (until supplies last).
• Food Truck: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM.
• Kids 5 and under: Free (no registration needed unless they want a shirt).
• Early bird discount registration closes May 20 to guarantee a t-shirt.
• Virtual Tracking: ASICS Runkeeper app. Track with phone or connected wearable. Manual results submission also available. Results can be posted June 13-30.
• Location: Busse Woods Groves 5-11, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. Specific grove directions sent to registrants.

• Virtual Mileage Awards: Team that walks the most miles and individual that walks the most miles (June 13-30).
• Charity Mission: Safe Families for Children prevents child neglect, reduces children entering child welfare system, and supports families in crisis. Founded in 2003 — fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion.
