Front Runners FRNY Cross Country 5K Run/Walk 2026

Front Runners New York presents its 23rd annual Cross Country 5K on September 26, 2026, at Van Cortlandt Park. The race starts promptly at 11 AM and is set to take place rain or shine in the picturesque fall setting of this historic park.
Participants will gather near the Tortoise & Hare Sculpture where a Front Runners NY volunteer will guide them through bib pickup and lead runners along the field towards the starting line. This scenic route features winding trails that wind through diverse terrain, offering both flat stretches and challenging hills that showcase Van Cortlandt Park's natural beauty.
The event is supported by the Tom Cook Fund, ensuring all participants receive a pair of translucent rainbow sunglasses as a token of appreciation for their involvement in this vibrant running community celebration. Front Runners New York invites runners to experience the unique atmosphere of fall in one of New York City’s largest parks and enjoy the camaraderie that defines this annual cross-country meet.
