GCR Club XC Season

The GCR Club XC Season kicks off in Naples, Florida on August 17th, marking the beginning of a series of training sessions aimed at fostering young runners through the fall season until October 21st. Gulf Coast Runners is proud to announce their youth team's new session for both Upper and Low Elementary as well as Middle School athletes, offering dedicated practices and training opportunities designed to enhance running skills and knowledge among participants.
Training takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Naples High School track. The venue, nestled in a vibrant community setting along 22nd Avenue, provides an ideal backdrop for young athletes to develop their endurance and agility over the course of fifteen sessions leading up to key races in September and October. Each practice session is meticulously crafted by Coach Moomaw, Coach Lauren, Coach Barone, and high school volunteers who bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to every meeting.
The Naples High School track serves as both the starting point and finish line for these training sessions, surrounded by lush greenery that sets an inviting atmosphere. The air carries a slight humidity throughout August, with temperatures hovering around 28 degrees Celsius, making it perfect weather conditions for outdoor activities. Participants should expect clear skies with occasional breezes to keep them cool during their runs. By October, the landscape transitions gently from summer's vibrancy into autumn hues, adding an extra layer of scenic beauty to each training session.

The GCR Club XC Season offers a seamless registration process through the RunSignUp platform at https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/Naples/ClubXC, where interested participants can secure their spots and access all necessary details for each training session and race day logistics. The cost of $109 per team includes not only extensive coaching but also provides athletes with a jersey or singlet to represent GCR proudly.
For those who are new to the program, bib pickup will be available at Naples High School on specified dates before each scheduled practice begins. Participants should bring their confirmation email and any additional information required for smooth entry into sessions. Each session is tailored specifically for young runners aged 6-14 years old, ensuring that all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience.
The GCR Club XC Season concludes its regular schedule with the final training session on October 21st in Naples, Florida. This season encapsulates more than just physical endurance; it builds community spirit among young athletes as they prepare for races such as the Vineyards Park event on September 19th and Holloway Park's FL Runners Invitational on October 2nd.
