For three consecutive years now, this race has been supporting PiLambdaLambda Chapter’s scholarship efforts for local high school students while also contributing to community health initiatives like the American Diabetes Association Step Out to Stop Diabetes event. Over 200 runners participated last year, making it a significant gathering of both locals and visitors eager to contribute positively.
The course follows a hard and dry surface through Lorton's streets, offering a challenging yet enjoyable route with minimal elevation changes. Participants will start at the school’s main entrance and wind their way through quiet residential areas before finishing back on the field where medals are awarded promptly after crossing the finish line.
Aid stations are strategically placed throughout to ensure hydration is always within reach for runners. On race day, expect temperatures between 16.8 degrees Celsius and a comfortable high of 26 degrees Celsius with low humidity at around 74%. While there's no significant rainfall expected, it’s wise to carry some form of protection just in case.
