Germanfest 5K Run/Walk/Dash

Celebrate the vibrant culture of Guttenberg, Iowa with the annual GermanFest 5K Run & Walk. This picturesque race takes place along the historic Mississippi River, offering runners and walkers stunning views of Lock & Dam No. 10 as they traverse scenic riverfront paths.
The festivities kick off early in the morning at 8:50 a.m., when children can participate in the Kids' Inflatable Dash, an exciting course filled with giant inflatables that promises laughter and high-fives for all participants. The main event begins promptly at 9:00 a.m., welcoming runners of all ages to explore Guttenberg's charming streets.
The race route starts near the Guttenberg Area Veterans Memorial on Main Street before following River Park Drive along the riverfront, where competitors will be treated to breathtaking vistas and lush greenery. After crossing the finish line, participants can join in the full day of GermanFest celebrations featuring authentic cuisine and beer, live polka music, an open-air market, wiener dog races, family activities, and more.
