Giffordtown 5K Road Race

The Fife Athletic Club presents the annual Giffordtown 5k Road Race, scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026. This scenic and challenging event is designed to cater to runners of all levels who are at least 13 years old on race day.
Set in the picturesque countryside around Giffordtown, this flat and fast out-and-back course offers a smooth running experience with minimal elevation changes. The route winds through quiet country roads where participants can enjoy serene views while pushing their limits. A Temporary Traffic Restriction Order (TTRO) ensures that runners will have an uninterrupted race environment free from vehicular traffic.
The Giffordtown 5k has been certified by the Association of UK Course Measuring and is guaranteed to be accurately measured, ensuring a fair competition for all participants. Detailed maps and route videos are available online for those looking to familiarize themselves with the course before race day.
Registration begins at 10 AM at the Giffordtown Village Hall, where runners can pick up their bib numbers. The start/finish line is approximately 150 meters from the hall, so athletes should arrive ready to run as there are no showering facilities available on-site. Limited parking spaces will be provided behind and around the village hall.
Upon completion of the race, participants can look forward to a prize-giving ceremony followed by refreshments served courtesy of Fife AC. Awards will go to the top three male and female finishers, along with first-place winners in specific age categories such as U20, Senior, and Masters athletes divided into ten-year groups. All runners are eligible for prizes within their overall category or respective age group, but only one prize per athlete can be claimed, prioritizing the overall ranking.
To add an extra layer of excitement to this year's race, a special bonus prize of £100 will be awarded to any male runner who beats Logan Rees' men’s course record time of 14:42 and to any female runner surpassing Morag MacLarty's women’s record set at 16:45.
For those unable to attend but still wish to support the race, entries can be transferred up until October 9, 2025. However, all transfers must adhere strictly to the rules outlined by Fife AC and require permission from the entry organizer, Ron Morrison. Entries are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organizers.
Participants should note that they enter the race at their own risk and agree to abide by SAL/UKA competition regulations. Photos taken during the race or prize-giving ceremony may be used for promotional purposes by Fife AC without further notice.
