Gigha Run

Gigha Run 2026 invites runners to explore the picturesque island of Gigha, where every step contributes to preserving its unique landscape. Participants have two distance options: an intimate 4.5-kilometer route or a more extensive 9-kilometer loop, both designed to showcase the island's diverse terrain.
The course begins at the heart of the village, near the Gigha Village Hall, and winds through charming cottages in Keill before venturing onto Achamore Farm’s expansive fields. Runners will encounter varying surfaces including aggregate paths, farm tracks, and stretches along the main road. The trail offers a mix of straight runs and turns at key junctions like Leim Cross Road, where runners must navigate to continue their journey.
After reaching the fire station near the village center, participants turn left onto an inviting path that leads them back towards the starting point, completing one lap. Those opting for the longer distance will repeat this loop to cover a total of 9 kilometers.
This event is limited to just 100 runners, ensuring a personal and intimate experience on each section of the trail. No dogs are allowed, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in Gigha’s serene environment.
