Glen Iris 5K & 10K Trail Run

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Letchworth State Park, often referred to as the "Grand Canyon" of the East, on September 13, 2026. The Glen Iris Trail Run/Walk invites runners and walkers alike for a scenic adventure through its stunning woodland trails.
The event features both a challenging 5K run/walk and an even more demanding 10K route, all set against the backdrop of Letchworth State Park's dramatic landscapes. Participants will traverse winding paths lined with lush forests, cross picturesque creeks, and marvel at sweeping vistas over the Genesee River Gorge. The trails are known for their rich biodiversity, offering glimpses of native wildlife along the way.
Both races start and finish near Trout Pond, providing a scenic setting to begin your journey through this natural wonderland. Water stations will be available on both routes: runners in the 5K race can expect one at the turnaround point, while those tackling the 10K course will encounter it twice during their run.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive beautifully crafted keepsake medals to commemorate their achievement and enjoy complimentary post-race refreshments provided by the Glen Iris Inn. The event promises a memorable experience for runners of all levels, with stunning scenery at every turn.
Registration is now open until September 12th at 5pm (early bird rates apply through July 31st). On race day, packet pickup will be available from 7:30 am to 9 am at the Trailside Lodge next to Humphrey Nature Center. Participants are encouraged to register early to ensure their preferred shirt size.
The post-race celebration takes place in the Trailside Lodge where runners can enjoy food and drinks while soaking up the park's serene atmosphere. Letchworth State Park will also be open for visitors throughout the weekend, offering additional opportunities to explore its natural beauty beyond race day.
Awards are given out to top finishers in various age groups as well as overall male and female winners of both distances. Custom trophies celebrate these achievements while all participants receive a custom designed medal upon completion.
