Glowing Bright for Spina Bifida

October is Spina Bifida Awareness month! Help us celebrate the lives of the 1,500 Wisconsin residents affected by the birth defect, Spina Bifida. Our walk promotes ability, positive self-image, pride, peer-support and includes a GLOWING GOOD TIME! Invite your school friends, work friends, family, neighbors, and everyone you know to join us for this family friendly activity supporting Spina Bifida Wisconsin.

Event date: Saturday, October 24th, 2025 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Online pre-registration is required by midnight October 4th and includes event t-shirt, glow stick give away, GLOW ROOM GAMES (black light glow area), refreshments, raffle and more! 

Event details: The walk will depart at 6:15pm and is illuminated with colorful lights and lanterns for the one-mile route around the park. Wear your neon colors, glow accessories and LED light up accessories to have a glowing good time with family and friends. Before and after the walk, we will take group photos with our cool photo backdrop, sell raffle tickets ($5 each), experience the black light glow area, enjoy refreshments, and socialize. Outside there is a play structure and picnic tables.

We're requesting donations from area businesses for raffle prizes, hopefully we'll be successful! Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for $5 each or 5 for $20. Drawing for winners will be done at 7:15pm; must be present to win. Click HERE or check our website for a list of prizes. 

New this year: Due to venue restrictions, we will be handing out candy along the route in place of the trunk or treat. 

Absolutely no pets, no alcohol, no tobacco, no vaping within close proximity of our event; especially in the pavilion.

This event raises money to support the services provided by Spina Bifida Wisconsin (SBWIS). On behalf of our families, thank you for joining us!

Tips for completing online registration: This website is fantastic for managing events; but can be confusing for first time users. New users will be asked to create an account. One person in your family creates the account and can register all family members. Click on “Event Info or Sign Up”, choose your event and add registrations for everyone in your family. Click the box to sign the waiver and continue. Choose your shirt size and continue. Next is the donation page and you will be given the option to “Become a Fundraiser”.

When you become a fundraiser, you can customize your own promotional page by naming your fundraiser, setting a goal, creating a special link, and including a photo and personal message. This is a great way to raise awareness about Spina Bifida, SBWIS and our services.

Park Rules and Route Info: No pets, no alcohol, no smoking, no vaping. The walk route distance is one mile on paved park path that is wheelchair/walker/stroller/scooter/wagon friendly and makes a rectangle. There are not port-a-potties along the one-mile route.
