Gnosall 10k and Fun Run

The Gnosall 10K(ish) Race on June 12th, 2027, is an invigorating journey through the heart of rural Shropshire. Organized by the enthusiastic Gnosall Globetrotters Running Club and held at the picturesque Gnosall Family Sports Club, this event promises a challenging yet rewarding experience for runners of all abilities.
The race begins promptly at 10:30am with an undulating course that covers approximately 11.2 kilometers. The route weaves through diverse terrains including the Shropshire Union Canal towpath, local farmland, Broadhill woodland, and disused railway lines, offering runners a scenic exploration of Gnosall’s natural beauty.
All participants will receive a high-quality technical t-shirt upon finishing and can look forward to spot prizes awarded randomly throughout the race. Formal awards are given to the top three male and female finishers as well as to the fastest young runner aged 20 or under, in memory of Sam Myatt, who was an active member of the community.
Registration opens at 9am with a recommended arrival time before 9:45am for ample preparation. Parking is available nearby at designated locations such as the Health Centre and Memorial Hall; runners should allow up to ten minutes to walk from these points to the start line.
The race features two water stations, located at mile markers 2 and 4, ensuring participants remain hydrated during their run. To minimize environmental impact, the event encourages runners to bring reusable bottles or plan for refreshments post-race at the Sports Club bar.
Safety is paramount; all finishers will be greeted with first aid assistance as needed, following strict guidelines set by England Athletics. Participants are reminded that only bone conduction headphones are permitted and running alongside dogs is not allowed due to safety concerns.
Families can enjoy a separate Fun Run starting at 9:30am, offering two lap options around the race field for children of all ages. This event includes chip timing, medals upon completion, and plenty of fun activities like a play area and bouncy castle provided by local sponsors.
