About the Event

Experience the thrill of Munny Sokol Park's stunning trails during the Tuscaloosa XC Mountain Bike Race from September 12-13, 2026. Nestled just outside the vibrant city limits of Northport, AL, this race offers a perfect blend of technical challenges and flowing singletrack that will test even the most seasoned riders.
The event kicks off on Saturday, September 12 with an open pre-ride at noon. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 13 when the main competition begins. Races are scheduled to start from early morning, catering to a wide range of participants: EMTB at 8:30 am, Pro/Category 1 riders at 9:15 am, followed by Category 2 and Single Speed racers at 9:30 am, then Women's Novice and Clydesdale categories at 10:15 am. Each category will have its own start time to ensure a smooth race experience.
The course is set up with Go Nuts Regional eMTB rules in mind, ensuring fair play for all participants. This includes a maximum of 750 watts allowed, no assistance over 20 miles per hour, and strict prohibitions on throttle mechanisms and studded tires. Riders must adhere to these regulations or risk disqualification.
Race organizers emphasize the event's family-friendly nature, making it accessible to riders of all skill levels. The course will cover a distance between 4.5 to 7 miles, designed with steep climbs and technical sections that challenge both experts and novices alike. Weather conditions may impact the race schedule; however, every effort will be made to maintain safety while continuing or adjusting the event as needed.
For those looking to participate, online registration is required by August 26 at $50 per participant. An additional $10 applies for Pro/CAT 1 riders seeking overall expert payouts and top age group finishes. Early registrants can claim a free t-shirt if signed up before September 3.
