About the Event

Experience the exhilarating Go Nuts Biking International Enduro Series at Sugar Mountain Bike Park, nestled in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. This stop on the series promises an unforgettable ride through diverse terrain and technical challenges that will test even the most seasoned enduro riders.
Located just a short drive from Banner Elk, with easy access off 1009 Sugar Mountain Drive, this venue offers breathtaking views and steep descents set against a backdrop of rolling hills. The park is approximately two hours from Asheville, making it accessible for both racers and spectators alike.
The race weekend kicks off on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, with the preride requiring participants to purchase a lift pass at Sugar Mountain Bike Park. On Sunday, August 2nd, riders will compete in the Go Nuts International Enduro Stop #5, where they can expect four to six clearly marked enduro stages.
The race day begins bright and early with registration opening at 8:00 AM, followed by a rider's meet at 8:30 AM. EMTB releases start promptly at 8:45 AM for the pros, who will be released five minutes later. The experts follow at 9:15 AM, while amateurs take to the trails at 9:45 AM. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 3 PM or as soon as all races are completed.
Competing individually throughout three races this season, riders aim to secure a spot in the overall Go Nuts International Enduro Championship Finale held on August 22-23 at Jarrod's Place. To qualify, participants must complete their best of three races and race the final championship event. The point system awards points from first place (26) down to 15th place (5), with all finishers after 21st receiving a single point.
As you navigate through Sugar Mountain’s challenging terrain, expect steep descents and technical trails that will push your limits. Proper gear is mandatory, including helmets and enduro-specific attire. No alcohol consumption during the race is allowed, ensuring a focused experience for everyone involved.
Team competition adds an extra layer of excitement with teams consisting of five to ten members across one or more categories. Each team member must complete three races for points to count fully towards their overall score. Points are awarded based on placing within each category: first place earns 5 points, while sixth and below earn a single point.
Safety is paramount at Sugar Mountain Bike Park. Riders should adhere strictly to the rules laid out by race officials, including proper trail etiquette and no sharing of bikes during competition. If you encounter an injured rider, stop immediately and report it to the officials or call for emergency services if necessary.
In case of severe weather conditions, races will proceed as planned with adjustments made only when absolutely necessary. Racers are encouraged to stay informed via the race director’s website and social media channels leading up to the event.
