Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Australia’s Grampians National Park, known locally as Gariwerd, the Grampians Peaks Trail (GPT) offers an unparalleled adventure for trail runners. Spanning 162 kilometers and climbing a total elevation gain of 7,700 meters from Mt Zero in the north to Dunkeld in the south, this challenging course winds through some of Australia’s most rugged yet stunning landscapes.
The GPT is divided into four distinct sections, each equipped with major aid stations that cater to runners’ needs. The trail itself provides a sense of security and comfort as it cuts through remote wilderness areas characterized by rocky terrain and dramatic vistas. Participants will find themselves deeply immersed in nature, experiencing the unique flora and fauna found within this ancient landscape.
