About the Event

The Mugello Challenge offers runners an unforgettable journey through the stunning landscapes of Tuscany. The race begins at the Autodromo del Mugello, where participants start on its 5-kilometer circuit before heading towards Lake Bilancino and Barberino. From there, competitors head to Galliano, marking a pivotal point in the route.
For those opting for the shorter distance, they continue toward Sant'Agata and finish at Scarperia after navigating through picturesque countryside. However, runners choosing longer routes face an initial climb up to Panna, followed by a descent along the scenic State Road leading to Firenzuola. Here, participants are met with breathtaking views as they tackle the Passo della Futa.
Those who have selected the medium distance then ascend the challenging Passo del Giogo before reaching Scarperia. Meanwhile, those on the longest route first scale the steep Passo del Paretaio and pass through Palazzuolo Sul Senio. This longer course culminates in a thrilling climb up to the Passo della Sambuca, followed by an exhilarating descent into Borgo San Lorenzo.
All routes converge at Scarperia’s charming Piazza dei Vicari for the finish line celebration, where runners are greeted with applause and admiration from locals and visitors alike. The race not only tests physical limits but also rewards participants with a rich tapestry of Tuscan culture, history, and natural beauty throughout its varied terrain.
