Experience the untamed beauty of the rolling prairie at the Fort Pierre National Grassland during the Grassland Gravel race/ride. Spanning 116,000 acres, this unique event offers three distinct routes—31 miles for a leisurely cruise, 53 miles for those seeking a moderate challenge, and an adventurous 71-mile journey through diverse landscapes. Whether you prefer drop bars or flat handles, or are considering the convenience of e-bikes, all types of bicycles are welcome. However, please ensure your setup is suitable for gravel riding. E-bike participants can enjoy the route but will not be eligible for race prizes. Join us on a day that combines nature and camaraderie as we celebrate the rich prairie environment. Along the way, you'll encounter picturesque vistas, wildlife, and the serene tranquility of this vast open space. The event is designed to cater to all paces—race pace or party pace—and encourages a fun atmosphere for everyone. On race day, enjoy well-stocked aid stations providing essential provisions along your route. Post-ride, savor a hearty meal and receive complimentary swag items as part of the registration package. Prizes await the top three finishers in each category, adding an extra incentive to push yourself through this unforgettable adventure. Register early for the best price; fees are $70 until July 1, 2026, after which they increase to $80. Online registration closes on July 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM Central Time. Day-of-event registrations will also be accepted. Please note that no refunds or transfers are offered for entries. However, you can purchase event insurance through BikeReg if needed.
