Great Langdale 21

Set against the dramatic landscapes of Great and Little Langdale, this 21km race is part of the prestigious Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend. The route begins at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn, where runners immediately face a steep ascent along a technical path under Far Eastern Raven before reaching Far Raven Crag. Dropping down to Old Dungeon Ghyll pub via challenging trails, participants are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mickleden.
From the pub, the course takes you up rugged terrain and across Great Langdale Beck on rough but runnable trails back to Stool End Farm. Crossing Oxendale Beck next, runners ascend steep paths and steps past Red Tarn and around Pike O'Blisco before reaching the 3 Shires Stone. A brief road section through Wrynose Pass leads into a trail that loops around Little Langdale Tarn.
The final stretch winds back to Great Langdale via quarry trails and Baysbrown Farm/Campsite, eventually joining The Cumbria Way until you return to Old Dungeon Ghyll Pub for the last leg along technical terrain. This race offers an immersive experience of Lakeland's rugged beauty and demanding terrain.
