About the Event

The 8th annual Grey Matters 5K/10K/virtual race will be held in Downtown Whitesburg, Kentucky on Saturday, May 10th, 2025. For those of you who will be unable to travel to us, we will continue to offer the virtual option this year.

We are thrilled to be in our eighth year and look forward to once again bring people who have been affected by brain cancer and members of the community together to help spread awareness of the disease.

Proceeds from this year's event will go to the Letcher County group ICAN, who helps people in need, including cancer patients, and another brain tumor organization.

About Whitesburg

Whitesburg is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Letcher County, Kentucky, United States. The population was at the 2020 census and an estimated 1,711 in 2022. It was named for John D. White, a state politician and Speaker of the United States House.
