Groundwork Lawrence Greenway 5k

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, join hundreds of community members for the annual Groundwork Lawrence Greenway 5K. This event celebrates healthy living and vibrant neighborhoods while highlighting the beauty of Lawrence's Spicket River Greenway.
The race starts at 9:00 am sharp after check-in from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., where participants can register on-site if needed. A shuttle bus will be available between the start line and finish area, running continuously from 7:30 until 11:00 a.m.
The course winds through scenic trails alongside the Spicket River, offering runners stunning views of nature and showcasing Lawrence's commitment to green spaces. Participants can enjoy the serene environment while connecting with fellow community members who share their passion for fitness and sustainability.
Medals will be awarded to the top two finishers in each age/gender group during a post-race ceremony that includes award announcements. Be sure to stay after the race to celebrate your achievements and support local green initiatives.
