Haldon Night

Haldon Forest awaits the return of its cherished night trail races, offering runners an enchanting evening adventure through the forest's winding paths. Competitors can choose between two routes: a 10K course that loops around the picturesque woodland and a more compact 5K option.
Both courses have been slightly adjusted to exceed their official distances, ensuring participants experience every corner of Haldon Forest under the starlit sky. The races begin and conclude at the Start/Finish arch, providing a central gathering point for runners and spectators alike.
While prizes are awarded to overall winners as well as category champions, there's also a special prize for the most creative headwear, adding an element of fun and camaraderie among participants. However, with the race now taking place in January, full fancy dress is discouraged in favor of practicality and safety.
For younger runners aged 3-7 years old, a one-kilometer lap offers a shorter but equally thrilling experience, while children between 8-11 years can tackle two laps for an extended adventure. Parents are welcome to run alongside their kids at no extra cost, making it a family-friendly event where everyone can enjoy the outdoors.
Participants should be prepared with head torches or chest lights as visibility is crucial in this nighttime setting. While parking is available on-site, there's a fee that must be paid by all attendees who drive to the race venue.
