About the Event

Barfield Hammer Drop, presented by MOAB Bike Shop, is set to make its debut on Sunday, August 16, at Barfield Crescent Park. This race promises an exhilarating blend of technical challenges and high-speed descents through Tennessee’s iconic single-track trails.
The course features a mix of punchy climbs and fast, technical descents that will push riders to their limits. With no room for mistakes, this event is designed for those who are ready to test both their speed and skill on the bike. The terrain at Barfield Crescent Park offers twisty wooded lines, steep leg-burning ascents, and thrilling descents, ensuring a nonstop adrenaline rush.
Participants will face three “No Dab” challenge sections where putting a foot down results in disqualification from these specific areas. Clean rides through all three sections can earn you prizes from local vendors or even the chance to win $100. The race is not just about speed; it’s also about maintaining smooth control under pressure.
Registration for this event opens on-site starting at 7:00 AM, with a mass start scheduled for 9:00 AM. For those who plan to spectate or volunteer, there are opportunities available as well, complete with recommendations for camping chairs and essential gear like bug spray and sunscreen.
Cash prizes await the top finishers in both male and female categories, while series points will be awarded based on overall performance across multiple races. The race includes a Skills Challenge/Time Trial component, offering a total purse of $175 to the winners.
