On Sunday, November 23, 2025, the Hannover Re – Half Marathon will take place along John Smith's Bay in Smiths, Bermuda. This scenic race offers runners an engaging course that winds through coastal streets and parks, providing breathtaking views of blue waters and sandy beaches. The event attracts participants from diverse backgrounds who come together to celebrate competition and support charitable causes.
As temperatures hover around 21 degrees Celsius during November, conditions are ideal for racing with mild weather and low humidity levels ensuring a comfortable environment despite potential breezes averaging about 29 kilometers per hour. Runners can expect firm and dry trail conditions providing stable footing throughout the course.
The half-marathon route stretches over 21 kilometers (half marathon distance) through Smiths, Bermuda. The race begins at 8:00 AM with an additional early start option available from 7:30 AM for participants expecting to complete the course in more than two hours and fifteen minutes. This ensures a smooth flow throughout the event.
The terrain is predominantly flat but includes minor inclines near historic landmarks along John Smith's Bay, adding variety to the route while offering picturesque views of Bermuda’s scenic coastline. Water stations are strategically placed every three to four kilometers where runners can hydrate with water or Gatorade in paper cups.
Since its inception, the Hannover Re – Half Marathon has grown steadily thanks to support from Hannover Re Insurance Company as part of their commitment to community wellness initiatives. The race recognizes top finishers across various age categories and genders, rewarding dedication with both personal accomplishment and tangible prizes.
To participate, interested individuals must register online via www.RacedayWorld.com up until 8:00 AM on the day of the event; however, entry fees will increase by $5 after Friday evening. Race-day bib pickup is available exclusively from 6:30 AM to start time at John Smith’s Bay in Smiths, Warwick, Bermuda with a required fee of $8 towards Bermuda National Athletic Association (BNAA).
The Hannover Re – Half Marathon invites both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike to join this meaningful run along Bermuda's captivating coastlines. With its scenic route, supportive atmosphere, and charitable focus, the event promises an unforgettable experience for all participants.
On race day, gather at John Smith’s Bay in Smiths, Warwick, Bermuda by 6:30 AM to ensure a seamless start time of 8:00 AM or opt for the early start from 7:30 AM if you anticipate longer completion times. Age requirements are open to all runners aged 14 and above as per BNAA guidelines.
