The Harcourts Burnie321-GO Kids' Race, scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2026, invites young athletes aged between 5 and 13 to experience the thrill of running along the scenic coastal paths near Burnie. This event offers three distinct race distances tailored specifically for different age groups: a challenging 3km course for older children, a manageable 2km distance for those in the middle range, and an introductory 1km run designed for younger participants. Registration closes at midnight on Saturday, November 14th online, with late registration available on-site from noon to 5 PM that day. However, this will incur a higher fee of $25. For children aged four years and under who wish to participate in the "Lap for Littlies" event alongside their parents, pre-registration is required by 10:30 AM online to ensure insurance coverage. The race day itself features an inclusive Have A Go run at 10am specifically designed for young athletes with disabilities. This short 200m sprint provides a supportive environment where all children can participate and enjoy the spirit of competition regardless of their abilities, with entry costing just $5 per child. Participants in the Lap for Littlies event should assemble by 10:45 AM to prepare for their special lap around the oval at noon. The main race events begin promptly at 11:15 AM, kicking off with a girls' run for those aged seven and under before moving on to other age categories. Race bibs can be collected from Harcourts Burnie offices in Cooee between November 12th and 13th during business hours. On Saturday, November 14th, they will also be available at the BAC office West Park from 10 AM until 3 PM. If needed, bib collection services are provided on race day morning at West Park. This event promises to be an exciting day filled with fun activities and a supportive atmosphere for young runners of all ages and abilities.
