Hartford Stewart's Spud Run

The Spud Run, hosted by Adirondack Runner Grand Prix Race on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, promises to challenge runners with its unique blend of terrain and community spirit. The race day features a challenging 5K that winds through the scenic landscapes near Glens Falls in New York State.
Participants gather at Hartford Central School on Routes 40 & 149 for an early start, with registration closing at 8:30 AM for the one-mile fun run and 9:00 AM for the main event. The race kicks off promptly at 9 AM for those looking to stretch their legs over a mile-long course that includes a notable hill climb. For those who crave more of an adventure, the 5K begins shortly after at 10 AM, offering runners rolling hills with one particularly steep ascent.
The Spud Run is not just about crossing the finish line; it's also about community and camaraderie. Post-race festivities include awards ceremonies where male and female overall winners receive a generous prize of ten pounds of potatoes. The top three in each age group are rewarded with five-pound sacks, fostering friendly competition among runners.
Entry fees for the 5K event can be pre-registered at $25 or paid on race day for $30, while the one-mile fun run is free to enter. Pre-registered participants receive a special Spud Run T-shirt as part of their registration package, adding an extra touch of pride and recognition.
