Embark on an exhilarating journey through the picturesque South Downs National Park with Liss Runners' volunteer-run race. This challenging 10-mile course winds its way over private lanes, gravel tracks, bridleways and footpaths, offering runners breathtaking views of rolling hills and lush countryside. The event is designed to cater to a variety of skill levels, but it's important for participants to be capable of completing the full distance within two hours and thirty minutes. Water stations are strategically placed along the route at approximately three-mile intervals to ensure you stay hydrated during your run. Upon reaching the finish line, runners will receive an exclusive medal as well as the chance to win one of two pairs of Hoka trainers in a spot prize draw. Trophies and cash prizes await the top male and female competitors overall, as well as winners from each veteran category: V40 (men aged 40-49), V50 (men aged 50-59), V60 (men aged 60-69) and V70 (men aged 70+). Female veterans compete in the same age categories. The race venue offers a range of amenities to enhance your experience. Free parking is available on the sports field, along with portable toilets and supervised storage for bags and belongings at the Pavilion. Participants can also enjoy refreshing teas and cold drinks alongside an impressive selection of homemade cakes served from the pavilion after crossing the finish line. For younger runners aged 4 to 14 years old, there's a free kids' fun run on the sports field while the main race is in progress. All children who participate will receive their own medal as well. Please note that dogs and buggies are not permitted during the event for safety reasons. Additionally, headphones of any kind except bone-conducting models should be left at home to ensure full engagement with your surroundings and fellow runners throughout the course. Registration opens on-site from 08:45 AM, allowing ample time before the race starts to collect your number and prepare yourself mentally and physically for this unforgettable challenge. The event is organized under England Athletics permit number 31272 by Run Events, ensuring a safe and well-organized experience for all participants. Join us on August 01, 2027, as we come together in the heart of South Downs National Park to celebrate running while supporting our local charity, The Rosemary Foundation.
