Competitors then embark on an exhilarating 38-mile bike ride that takes them over Kirkstone Pass, a notorious climb that rewards those who push past its steep inclines with breathtaking views of the Lake District and a thrilling descent. The route also weaves through charming villages like Glenridding, Ambleside, and Grasmere, offering glimpses into quintessential English countryside.
The race culminates in an unforgettable 9-mile fell run to Helvellyn's summit at nearly 3000 feet above sea level. Mandatory equipment for the fell run includes waterproof full-body cover (jacket and trousers), foil survival blanket, map of the route available at registration, and a compass.
