Experience authentic German Vereinsleben (club life) and rustic charm at the 28th Hiddestorff Rübenlauf (Beet Run). This beloved, family-oriented running festival, organized by the SVE Hiddestorf running club, takes place on September 20, 2026. Offering distances for every generation—from the kids' 500m "Möhrchenlauf" (Little Carrot Run) to the challenging Hemminger H.v. Roon Half Marathon (21.3km)—the event is a celebration of community spirit. Runners and walkers can choose between the 5.2km and 10.1km main events, all set on scenic rural routes. True to its name, the post-race atmosphere is the main attraction, featuring a legendary runners' breakfast, homemade cakes, grilled food, and drinks in a festive, welcoming environment. More than just a race, it's a heartfelt local tradition where sport seamlessly blends with fellowship, offering a genuine taste of Lower Saxony's running culture.
