5K Trail Run and Keiki Trick-Or-Treat Run A laid-back, costume event for the whole family! The fun will take place at Omao Dirt Track on October 24, 2026. The 5K Trail Run is an exciting off-road course with spooky hills, creepy obstacles, and magnificent views of the south shore of Kauai. The course is no longer than 3.1 miles. The wearing of costumes is STRONGLY encouraged. Feel free to run fast and try to win the race, but please understand the best PRIZES are awarded to the best COSTUMES! Register early - Only the first 100 trail runners to sign up are guaranteed a stylish event T-shirt! *Any child 12 and under who registers for the 5K can participate in the Keiki Trick-or-Treat Run for no additional charge* ***Attention High School Runners*** The Hilloween 5K run is free for any KIF high school cross country team member, or half price ($20) if you wish to receive an event T-shirt. The Keiki Trick-Or-Treat Run is for kids aged 0-12. It is a short, easy off-road course with trick-or-treat stations along the way. All participants receive a Hilloween tote bag to haul their goodies. Just arrive in costume and run! The Knudsen Trust has generously opened their land to the public for this event, which is made possible by the Garden Island Motorcycle Club. Schedule of Events: 7:00am- Check in for 5K Trail Run 7:30am- Same-day registration ends 8:00am- 5K Trail Run begins, Check in for Trick-Or-Treat Run 9:00am- Keiki Trick-Or-Treat Run begins 9:30am- Award Ceremony Da Wicked Brew will be on site providing tasty goodies such as bagel sandwiches, acai, smoothies and coffee for sale throughout the event. Event location is on Kaumuali'i Hwy, approximately 1.5 miles west of Tunnel of Trees. Look for signs on mauka side of highway. SAME DAY REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE at 7:00am for the 5K, 8:00am FOR THE TRICK-OR-TREAT RUN. If you can't join us in person, you can still register for the virtual 5K! Simply put on your costume, select the hilliest 5K route you can find, and run! Virtual participants receive an event T shirt. Hilloween is a pet-friendly event! Your leashed furry is welcome to join us, and will be entered into our pet costume contest. This is a fundraising event to benefit Kauai Ballet Academy Foundation, with all funds providing dance tuition scholarships for youth in need. HUGE Mahalo to our sponsors! About Koloa
Learn more about the host city, Koloa.
Kōloa is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Kauaʻi County, Hawaiʻi, United States. The population was 2,231 at the 2020 census, up from 1,942 at the 2000 census. The first successful sugarcane plantation in the Hawaiian Islands was started here in 1835. It became a part of Grove Farm in 1948.
