Experience the splendor of Wisconsin's Northwoods during the 5th Annual Hodag Country Ramble, held from September 8 to 20. This unique multi-day adventure invites participants to explore the breathtaking landscapes and rich community spirit that define this region. The event offers three challenging routes for cyclists: a 26-mile route, a 50-mile option, or an epic 80 miles. Whether you opt for speed or leisurely pacing, each distance promises a diverse terrain of two-track paths, gravel roads, and smooth pavement through national forest land, private logging areas, and serene lakeside views. Registration includes two nights of camping on the family's property outside Rhinelander, Wisconsin, along with a 5th anniversary pin. Enjoy Saturday evening dinner hosted by Chef Adam Blake, featuring vegan and carnivore options, plus complimentary New Belgium Beer and La Croix. Revel in live music and dancing under the stars following your meal. Riders can look forward to a variety of activities throughout their stay: - Thursday: Early camping opens at 3 PM with limited spots available. - Friday: Arrive early for a bandit cross challenge, riders' meeting, market, and swimming from noon until gates close. - Saturday: Start the day's ride at 9 AM; enjoy family dinner at 7 PM. Afterward, participate in refreshments and festivities. Sunday marks your final day with departure by 3 PM encouraged to make way for new participants. The event culminates on Sunday as you bid farewell to this magical setting. Camping spaces are limited to 180 people; however, numerous campsites, hotels, and resorts abound nearby if you prefer a different accommodation. Only registered individuals can camp onsite or access the property due to space constraints and safety concerns. For those wishing to share their adventures with non-registered friends, camping categories without on-site accommodations are available. Marketplaces will be open for participants to sell bike parts, clothing, and homemade goods during your stay. On-site facilities include porta-potties and hand-washing stations. Encourage carpooling where possible as spaces remain limited; a nearby lake offers easy access for refreshing swims or water pumping at the property. Dogs are welcome this year but must be well-behaved, with owners responsible for picking up after them. Neighboring chickens call out to respect their peaceful coexistence. Treat the land and its trees with care, avoiding littering and damaging vegetation. Use hammocks only on sturdy branches at least 8 inches in diameter. While registrations are non-refundable, this event promises an unforgettable blend of natural beauty, community spirit, and cycling challenges that will leave a lasting impression.
