Hope for Haiti 5K and Fun Run

The Hope for Haiti 5K and Fun Run returns to Saint Augustine, Florida on October 31st, bringing together runners and walkers in support of a meaningful cause. This annual event takes place at Anastasia Church, with the run beginning promptly at 8:00 AM followed by a fun run for all ages starting just fifteen minutes later at 8:15 AM. Participants will experience both the scenic beauty of Anastasia State Park and charming neighborhoods that dot St. Johns County.
As runners make their way through the park, they'll enjoy running under a natural hammock canopy along shaded roads, encountering gentle turns and hills as part of the course's unique layout. The weather on this Halloween day is expected to be mild with temperatures around 23 degrees Celsius, making it comfortable for all participants who are encouraged to dress up in creative or festive costumes to add an extra layer of fun. The race route winds through some of St. Augustine’s most picturesque neighborhoods before finishing back at the church grounds where Anastasia Church has generously provided their shaded property.
Over the years, this event has grown into a beloved tradition within Saint Augustine's community, with hundreds coming out each year to participate and support Hope for Haiti's mission. Since its inception, it has raised significant funds to care for over 50 children at an orphanage in Haiti, providing essential resources such as food, shelter, education, and daily care. This commitment reflects the deep sense of purpose that runners bring with them every October when they lace up their shoes.
The course through Anastasia State Park offers a blend of natural beauty and community spirit, winding its way along shaded roads covered by lush vegetation before ending in one of Saint Augustine’s quiet neighborhoods where participants can enjoy picturesque views. The race concludes back at the church grounds, offering runners and walkers a chance to celebrate with their families under the protective shade of Anastasia Church's property.
Registration for both the Hope for Haiti 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run is now open through https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/SaintAugustine/HopeForHaiti5KAndFunRun. Participants can choose from various options including a $40 fee to participate in the full five-kilometer race or a more affordable $15 for those joining the one-mile fun run. For those who prefer not to join on race day, there are also no-run shirt pick-up and mail-in options available at fees of $22 and $32 respectively.
On race day, bib pickup will take place from 7:00 AM onwards directly at Anastasia Church where ample parking is provided. Participants should bring a valid ID or proof of registration to ensure smooth check-in procedures before heading out on the course. The start line for both events begins right here in front of the church, making it easy and convenient for everyone involved.
