Hopwood Trot

Nestled on the outskirts of Middleton in Greater Manchester, the Hopwood Trot offers runners a scenic journey around historic Hopwood Hall. This approximately five-and-a-half-mile (8.8km) course winds through paths, tracks, and country lanes, providing a diverse terrain that challenges both legs and lungs.
Participants will gather at the Sports Hall on campus to collect their race numbers and chips before heading out onto the adjoining sports field for the 7:00pm start time. The event is designed not only to test runners' endurance but also to immerse them in the rich history of Hopwood Hall, making it a unique experience that blends sport with local heritage.
The route itself features varied landscapes and elevations, ensuring an engaging run through picturesque settings around the college grounds. As participants navigate the course, they'll encounter sections that highlight both natural beauty and well-maintained pathways, creating a memorable race day for all involved.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners can look forward to more than just personal achievements; there are prizes awarded to the top three male and female finishers as well as first place in each age category. Additionally, teams have the chance to vie for special recognition, adding an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie to this already engaging event.
With a limited entry cap of 200 runners, early registration is recommended to secure your spot at what promises to be an unforgettable race day experience.
