Hornby Island

Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty and challenging terrain of British Columbia’s Hornby Island at our annual 50K and 25K trail races. Nestled off the coast, this island offers an unparalleled blend of rugged natural landscapes and serene coastal vistas.
The full-length 50K course takes runners on a comprehensive tour around Hornby Island, with approximately 1,400 meters of elevation gain that includes steep ascents through lush forests, rocky bluffs overlooking the ocean, and fast-flowing trails where smiles are as common as sweat. Participants will experience the island’s diverse ecosystems up close, from dense moss-covered woodlands to open ridgelines offering panoramic views.
For those seeking a more manageable yet equally rewarding challenge, the 25K route provides an excellent introduction to Hornby Island's trail network. This course features steep climbs through verdant forests and along scenic coastal paths, giving runners a taste of both the beauty and toughness that await on longer distances.
Both routes are meticulously marked and supported by dedicated volunteers who ensure safety and comfort throughout the event. After crossing the finish line, participants can unwind in an island-style celebration complete with local cuisine, lively community interactions, and relaxing ocean views – the perfect way to cap off a memorable day of running.
