Huntsville Run Fest

Huntsville Run Fest is set to bring runners together for an unforgettable day filled with challenging trails, scenic views, and community spirit. This year’s festival offers something for everyone, from the adventurous 25K and 50K trail races to a family-friendly Sublett Point Challenge 5K.
The centerpiece of the event is the Two Mountain Trail race series, which takes place on Saturday morning at McMullen Cove Clubhouse. The trail runs feature rugged terrain with steep climbs, technical sections, and fast runnable stretches that will test both your mental toughness and physical endurance. Runners can expect over 2,500 feet of elevation gain in the 25K race and more than double that for the grueling 50K route.
The trail system at McMullen Cove is a true gem, offering runners a chance to explore single-track paths steeped in history dating back centuries. Along the way, you’ll encounter notable landmarks such as Pancake Hollow with its scenic waterfall, Blake’s Cabin—a historic hunting cabin—and Sublett Point, which offers breathtaking views and serves as an important checkpoint for both races.
Aid stations are strategically placed throughout the course to keep runners fueled and hydrated. Key points include Blake's Cabin at 3.1 miles, Watson’s Overlook at 5.2 miles, Indian Tree / Tucker Intersection at 9.75 miles, Sublett Point at 12.5 miles for the 25K race, and Silo Hill at 14.2 miles with water only.
For those looking to tackle a shorter distance while still experiencing the thrill of climbing to Sublett Point, the Sublett Point Challenge offers an out-and-back route on the Two Mountain Greenway. This certified 5K course features a climb up to the top where runners can enjoy stunning views and compete for awards in various categories including King of the Mountain.
Both races are designed with safety and support in mind, ensuring that participants have everything they need to push their limits while enjoying one of Alabama’s most beautiful trail systems. The event also includes packet pickup options on Friday at Fleet Feet Huntsville from 12:00 PM–5:00 PM or early Saturday morning before the race starts.
