Infinity Trail Backyard - Les Terrils

Return to the haunting, industrial majesty of the Pas-de-Calais for the fourth edition of Infinity Trail: Les Terrils. On Friday, April 3, 2026, 300 determined runners will gather at the Arena Terril Trail in the heart of the historic Mining Basin. This is not just a race; it is a tribute to a territory shaped by human hands and the coal-dusted legacy of those who labored beneath it. Running across the "Black Mountains" (Terrils) is an act of remembrance and a brutal test of endurance, designed to push your limits far beyond what you believed possible.

The concept remains as relentless as ever: one 6.706 km loop every hour, on the hour. The 2026 course weaves through a legendary landscape, crossing the Arena, tracing the banks of the Lens Canal, circling the Étang du Brochet, and navigating the mysterious Marais de la Garance. With approximately 70m of elevation gain per loop, the terrain is deceptive—inviting at first, but soul-crushing as the hours turn into days. Only one runner will finish; all others will earn the respected title of "Non-Finisher" in this mythic backyard ultra.

Infinity Trail is committed to an eco-responsible, "no-frills" experience. Runners will have access to a dedicated outdoor grass rest zone to set up their own weather-proof camps. A full, solid refreshment station—featuring pasta, rice, and hot broths at night—opens every three hours, strictly avoiding bottled sodas and sparkling water to minimize waste. Partnered with the city of Noyelles-Sous-Lens and the Lens-Liévin tourism office, this event is a cornerstone of the French Backyard circuit.
