Immersive Gravel and Rail Trail Adventure: The Grand Loop Challenge Set against the backdrop of scenic gravel roads and historic rail trails, the Grand Loop Challenge offers endurance runners an unforgettable experience. This epic race features 9 laps around a meticulously designed course totaling 100.35 miles. Each lap is approximately 11.15 miles long, weaving through diverse terrain that includes unique stretches alongside an active railway. The route combines rugged gravel paths with sections of rail trail, providing runners with a mix of challenging surfaces and stunning scenery. The rail trail portion stands out due to its vibrant atmosphere, where the sounds of passing trains add an extra layer of excitement for participants. A manned aid station is strategically placed at mile 6 within each loop, ensuring that competitors have access to essential supplies throughout their journey. Registration for a guaranteed event shirt closes on May 1, 2026, so early sign-ups are recommended. For those seeking support along the way, pacers can join starting from Loop #6 but must adhere to strict guidelines; only one pacer is allowed at any given time and all pacers need to complete a waiver. Competitors have three distance options: the 50k ($135), the 50-mile race ($170), and the full 100-mile challenge ($250). All races begin simultaneously on May 16, 2026, at 6am. Once the event starts, there are no changes or drop downs allowed. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive a high-quality tri-blend shirt as a token of appreciation for their dedication and perseverance. In addition to this universal reward, top male and female finishers in each race category will be honored with special awards. Every participant who completes any distance also earns an exclusive finisher's buckle. For those unable to attend on the scheduled date, 100% deferrals are available within a month of the event without needing to provide reasons for rescheduling. The Grand Loop Challenge promises not only physical endurance but also a rich tapestry of sights and sounds that make it one of the most unique races in the region.
