Irvine Cyclocross feat Lloyds National Cyclo-cross Series

Burns Weekend Cyclo-Cross Festival returns to the picturesque landscapes of Ayrshire from January 19 to January 21, 2027. This three-day celebration of cycling and Scottish culture is held during the weekend that commemorates Robert Burns' birthday. The festival offers a unique blend of competitive racing and community spirit as riders navigate challenging terrain across multiple courses.
The event kicks off on Thursday with informal rides through scenic countryside routes, allowing participants to acclimate to the varied landscape of Ayrshire. Cyclists can enjoy leisurely spins or warm up for more intense competition ahead. The main events begin over the weekend when the cyclo-cross races take center stage.
Saturday and Sunday feature a series of competitive heats on specially designed cross-country courses that challenge riders with mud, sand, grass, and steep inclines. Racers will experience the thrill of quick transitions from off-road sections back to paved surfaces as they race against time and other competitors. Each day showcases multiple categories for different levels of cyclists including beginners, intermediate racers, and elite professionals.
In addition to racing action, attendees can look forward to live music performances by local artists, food stalls offering traditional Scottish fare, and interactive workshops led by cycling experts who provide tips on bike maintenance and training techniques. The festival also includes a family-friendly atmosphere with activities for children such as mini-bike races and face painting booths.
Burns Weekend Cyclo-Cross Festival promises an unforgettable experience combining athletic competition with cultural heritage in one of Scotland's most beautiful regions. Whether you're looking to test your skills on challenging terrain or simply enjoy the festive spirit, this event has something special for everyone involved.
