The Jackalope Race returns for its third edition on October 18th, 2026, in the stunning landscapes of Doña Ana County, New Mexico. This year marks an exciting expansion with new sections added to the course. Participants will start their journey from Mesquite and head north towards Las Cruces before looping back through Tortugas Mountain and Sierra Vista Trail. The race commences at 8:30 AM sharp under a clear desert sky. Three distinct courses cater to various abilities, ensuring there's something for everyone: - A beginner-friendly 12-mile loop - A medium 28-mile course - And the full challenge of a 40-mile route Both mountain biking (flat bars) and gravel riding (drop bars) are welcome on all sections. However, it’s important to note that this is not specifically designed as a gravel race. Awards will be presented for top male and female finishers in each distance category: beginner, medium, full course. These categories also split further into age groups: under 18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. The atmosphere is competitive yet friendly, with a focus on camaraderie among participants. Registration costs $70. Early birds can secure their spot by signing up within the first hundred registrants who will receive an official race t-shirt as part of this special offer. Experience the unique blend of desert beauty and challenging terrain that only Doña Ana County can provide, making for a memorable race day. Mark your calendars and join us in celebrating another thrilling edition of The Jackalope Race!
