Welcome to the 21st Jed Renilson Wheelchair and Hand Cycle 10K Road Race, scheduled for Sunday, October 25th, 2026 at Bonjedward Garage in Jedburgh (TD8 6JQ). This event kicks off early morning with a registration start time of 9:00am. Participants will gather to get their race packets and make final preparations before the exhilarating 10K challenge. The entry fee is £15, with space limited to just 20 racers due to the intimate nature of this event. Each participant must be capable of completing the course in under 45 minutes; riders who cannot meet this requirement should contact the organizers beforehand for alternative arrangements. Race day registration isn't available, so early entry is strongly recommended. The race route is a straightforward out-and-back along the A698 road that starts from Bonjedward Garage and takes racers down a steep hill before turning right onto the main thoroughfare. The course then heads east towards Mounthooly for 5 kilometers before returning west back to Jedburgh, with the finish line located approximately 70 meters after the turnoff leading to Caddyman Restaurant’s car park. Participants will find accessible toilets at registration and refreshments waiting upon crossing the finish line. Afterward, racers and their supporters are invited to form a convoy heading to the club rooms of Jedburgh Rugby Football Club in Riverside Park for a celebratory meal and prize-giving ceremony. For those needing changing or showering facilities after completing the race, men can use the Jed Thistle Rugby Club located near Lothian Car Park while women have access to amenities at the Leisure Centre across from the car park via A68. It's important to note that the route along the A698 will be closed between 10:00am and race start time, so plan your travel accordingly. Public parking in town fills up quickly before the event, encouraging participants to use Canongate Car Park or Lothian Car Park. All competitors must provide their previous or best 10K times upon registration as a safety measure. First-time racers are advised to contact the organizers ahead of time for guidance and approval. The entry deadline is set for Monday, October 19th, with no refunds given after this date nor any deferrals allowed. Late manual entries will incur an additional £10 fee. For more information or assistance with registration queries, visit www.jedburghrunningfestival.org.uk or reach out to Greig Shortreed at greig.shortreed@scotborders.gov.uk or by phone on 07880138722. We look forward to welcoming you and your supporters for a memorable day in Jedburgh.
