On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Jewish Healthcare Center (JHC) invites runners of all ages to participate in its 23rd Annual Home Run5K. Presented by Patrick Motors and sponsored by Price Chopper, this family-friendly event promises a morning filled with activity and community spirit. Participants can choose between running or walking routes that wind through scenic local neighborhoods, offering the perfect backdrop for both seasoned athletes and casual walkers alike. For those who enjoy bringing their furry friends along, dogs are welcome to join in on the fun as well. The race starts at 10:00 AM sharp, but participants should plan to arrive between 9:30-10:00 AM for registration. Online registrations close by midnight on Friday before the event, though day-of registrants can still sign up for a $20 entry fee. Walking and senior entries are free. After crossing the finish line, runners will be greeted with a complimentary bagel breakfast provided by Price Chopper. The kids' area offers special activities to keep young ones engaged while their parents enjoy the race or take part in post-race festivities. Proceeds from this event go directly towards supporting essential services and programs at JHC, which is renowned for its comprehensive care offerings including Long-Term Care, Alzheimer's Care, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Hospice Services, PrivateCare, JHC LifeCare Management, and Assisted Living at Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence.
