Dawn breaks as runners and walkers gather for the early morning start of this unique race, which offers both running and walking options. Participants can choose between a 1.5-mile run or a more leisurely 3-mile walk, each designed to cater to different fitness levels.
The event begins promptly at 08:00 AM with the 1.5 mile dash, where runners sprint through scenic routes under the early morning sun. The race is short but sweet, offering a quick and invigorating start to the day for those who prefer a faster pace.
For those preferring a more relaxed approach, the 3-mile walk kicks off at 08:30 AM. This longer route allows participants to take in the surroundings at their own comfortable speed, enjoying the morning atmosphere while engaging with fellow walkers and runners along the way.
To ensure safety and enjoyment for all participants, cut-off times have been established:
- For those under 30 years old, a combined run/walk time limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes (80 minutes) applies.
- Participants aged 30 to 39 must complete their distance within one hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes).
- Ages 40 to 49 have until two hours for the walk option, with a run time limit of 75 minutes.
- For runners and walkers over 50 years old, there's an additional grace period up to 2:30 PM.
