Welcome to the Jigger Johnson Ultras, where runners from around the globe converge on New Hampshire's White Mountains to test their limits and forge unforgettable memories against some of the most challenging terrain in North America. This epic trail race offers three distinct distances that cater to all levels of endurance athletes: a grueling 108-mile out-and-back journey with over 29,000 feet of elevation gain; a formidable 50-mile route featuring rugged and technical mountain trails across nearly 60 miles; and an exhilarating 20-mile course perfect for those seeking the thrill without stretching their limits too far. The starting line in Waterville Valley sets runners off on a relentless odyssey through some of New Hampshire's most stunning landscapes. The 108-mile route takes participants to the South Moat trailhead before turning back, offering an unrelenting test of both physical and mental endurance as they navigate steep ascents and descents across the White Mountains' iconic peaks. For those tackling the 50-mile distance, the challenge is equally formidable. Spanning nearly 60 miles, this route sees runners summit three of New Hampshire's most prominent 4,000-foot mountains while traversing a diverse range of challenging terrain that will push even seasoned ultrarunners to their limits. The Jigger Johnson 20 Mile presents an epic mountain loop starting and finishing in Waterville Valley. This course includes the summits of Mount Osceola and Mount Tecumseh, offering breathtaking views over the White Mountain National Forest while ascending a total elevation gain of nearly 6,000 feet. Beyond the individual races, participants have the opportunity to join the White Mountain Endurance Cup, which features four sub-ultra distance courses designed to showcase some of the finest mountain running in the Northeast. Completing at least three out of these four events earns runners a commemorative cup medal and entry into the leaderboard competition for top male and female finishers. As you prepare for this incredible challenge, remember that extreme weather conditions are common across New Hampshire's White Mountains. Mandatory gear includes items such as water filters, emergency blankets, headlamps with extra batteries, first aid kits, and more to ensure your safety during these unpredictable conditions. Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting runners throughout the event, offering an invaluable service to the running community. Join us for Jigger Johnson Ultras – where the beauty of nature meets the spirit of endurance running. Are you ready to embark on this unforgettable adventure?
