Joanne Bjorkman Memorial Cowabunga 5K Run, Ruck & Walk

Celebrate the legacy of Joanne Bjorkman at the second annual Cowabunga 5K Run/Walk/Ruck. This heartwarming event honors a woman who brought joy and laughter to everyone she met, often clad in an inflatable cow costume that became synonymous with her infectious spirit.
The race takes place along the scenic shores of Breezy Point Resort, offering runners and walkers a picturesque route through serene landscapes and tranquil waters. Participants can choose between running, walking, or rucking on this 3.1-mile course designed to suit all fitness levels while raising funds for the Brainerd Lakes Pay It Forward Cancer Fund.
This year’s event introduces an exclusive dinner/sunset cruise package provided by Breezy Point Resort aboard the luxurious Breezy Belle yacht. The evening promises breathtaking views and a chance to unwind after the race with live music performed by Doug Allen Nash from 9:00 pm until midnight, included in your ticket purchase.
Registration opens at 5:00 PM on July 28th for onsite check-in and shirt pickup, while preregistered participants can collect their shirts starting from 5:45 PM. The race kicks off promptly at 6:00 PM with the dinner cruise setting sail shortly after at 7:30 PM.
