Kawartha Sun Run 2026

Fast. Flat. Scenic. The XACT Kawartha Sun Run returns to Fenelon Falls — the "Jewel of the Kawarthas" — on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Half marathon (7:30 AM), 10 km (7:40 AM), and 5 km (7:45 AM). Start at Garnet Graham Beach Park, run along the Victoria Trail with waterfront views, parks, and nature. No strollers. No dogs. Just a personal best waiting to happen. Finish with a medal and custom event shirt.

The Course:

• Start/finish at Garnet Graham Beach Park, Fenelon Falls (Kawartha Lakes region, 1.5 hours northeast of Toronto)
• Victoria Trail — a multi‑use path along the Trent‑Severn Waterway
• Scenic highlights: waterfront views, locks, bridges, and the famous Fenelon Falls (the falls that give the town its name)
• Flat terrain — known for personal bests and fast finishes
• Fully paved, closed to traffic (with community support and course marshals)

What's Included:

• Chip timing (net time)
• Custom event shirt (pick up on race day for mail‑out bib option; at kit pickup otherwise)
• Finisher medal for all who cross the line
• Aid stations approximately every 2.5‑3 km — water and XACT electrolyte drink only (no gels or solid food). Runners must carry their own nutrition.
• Portable toilets at each aid station and at the half marathon turnaround
• Medical support on course
• Post‑race snacks (water, fruit, light refreshments)
• Age group awards (check event page for categories)

Kit Pickup — Three Options:

• Lindsay — Monday, June 8, 4:00–7:00 PM at Crossfit Lindsay (205 St George Street, Lindsay)
• Toronto — Thursday, June 11, 4:00–7:00 PM at Culture Athletics (972 Queen St E, Toronto)
• Fenelon Falls — Saturday, June 13, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM (location TBD)
• Mail‑out race kits available (bib mailed to you; shirt picked up on race day). Select during registration or via the "store" link.
• VIP kit pickup on race day — available only for those who purchase the VIP option through Race Roster (see "store" link).
• Friends may pick up your kit with written permission (email) and proof that you signed your waiver during registration.
• Everyone must have a bib and timing chip to race.

• Register 5‑10 people in one transaction — save 10%

Parking — READ THIS (strict instructions):

• DO NOT drive directly to Garnet Graham Beach Park. The lot is reserved for crew, volunteers, vendors, and race vehicles only.
• DO NOT turn onto Water Street. Your GPS may suggest it — it's a dead end with no parking and limited turnaround space.
• Option A (recommended): Park at Fenelon Falls Community Centre (27 Veterans Way, Fenelon Falls). 20‑minute walk to the start. Walk past White Cottage Cafe and Tim Hortons, over the bridge with a spectacular view of the falls and Lock #34.
• Options B & C: Limited downtown lots off Francis Street or Bond Street, and some street parking. Traffic may be heavy — arrive early and be patient.
• Expect significant traffic on race morning. Plan to arrive early. Stay calm.

Cutoff & Cancellation Policy:

• Half marathon cutoff: 3 hours 30 minutes after start (11:00 AM).
• No refunds or cancellations. If the event is canceled due to government/public health order or weather, you may run as a virtual event. No deferrals. No refunds.
• Transfer between distances or to another runner allowed until June 5, 2026 ($5 admin fee). Use the "transfer" link on Race Roster.

Weather Policy:

• Athletics Ontario sets rules for delays or cancellations due to inclement weather. If canceled, no refunds — most race fees have already been allocated. Registered participants still receive swag bag and shirt.

Fundraising & Community Impact:

• Proceeds support Kawartha Lakes Food Source — local food bank and hunger relief programs.
• Goal not specified; currently raised CA$2,277. Top fundraiser: Amanda Handscomb (CA$108). Top team: In Pursuit (CA$117).
• Fundraising leaderboards available online.
