About the Event

The Kicking PancreAS™ 5K - Alberta returns to Calgary on June 13th, 2026. This inaugural event in the city promises a fun and inclusive run for all levels of ability—whether you choose to walk or run, set your personal goal and take it at your own pace.
Race morning finds participants gathering along the scenic Glenmore Landing pathway. The route offers firm and slightly soft conditions underfoot, with the UV index typically around moderate levels on race day. Runners can expect a trail that is well-lit, making for an enjoyable evening event where participants are encouraged to wear purple and glow-in-the-dark gear—costumes are even more than welcome.
This five-kilometer race has been meticulously organized over several years, with the first Kicking PancreAS™ in Calgary marking a significant milestone. The event not only brings communities together but also raises critical funds for pancreatic cancer awareness, patient support, healthcare education, and Canadian research efforts. Every step taken during this run contributes to changing outcomes for those affected by this deadly disease.
Course venue starts at Glenmore Landing Shopping Centre on 1600 90 Ave SW A126, Calgary AB T2V 5A8. The route winds through the city’s parks and neighbourhoods before returning participants to their starting point. There are no aid stations along the course, but runners will benefit from a firm surface that requires careful footing.
The weather on June 13th is expected to be typical for early summer in Calgary with temperatures ranging between comfortable highs of around 20°C (68°F) and cool lows of about 14°C (57°F). Humidity levels are moderate, keeping conditions pleasant. Wind may be a minor factor but should not significantly impact the race experience.

Scenic view of

Calgary is Alberta's largest city and Canada's third-largest, and is near where the prairies end and the foothills begin. That makes it the eastern gateway to the Rocky Mountains and an important centre of trade and tourism for the western prairies. It is your best point of access for Banff and Jasper, and a worthwhile destination in its own right. Calgary is the heart of the largest metropolitan area between Toronto and Vancouver, with over 1.3 million people as of 2021, making it Canada's fifth largest metropolitan area. Nicknames of Calgary include The Stampede City and YYC.
