Kill the Hill 5k Vassar

Dive into the heart of Vassar, Michigan for an unforgettable 5K run/walk experience like no other. The "Kill the Hill" event promises to challenge and inspire runners with its scenic route that winds through downtown Vassar before scaling M-15 hill—a true test of endurance.
The race begins at T. North Pavilion in the heart of Vassar, where participants will be greeted by a vibrant atmosphere filled with local vendors and community spirit. From there, you'll embark on a course that showcases Vassar's rich history as a logging town through informative signs placed along the way. These markers detail fascinating historical facts about the area’s past, adding an educational element to your run.
As you climb M-15 hill, expect breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the chance to feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with conquering this challenging section. The race concludes near Cass River Park, where runners can enjoy a well-deserved finish line celebration under the pavilion's shade.
For those looking for an extra touch of Vassar pride, early registrants will have access to custom-designed t-shirts featuring local artwork by Cold Sky Apparel Co., which also marks this year’s 40th anniversary since the historic flood in 1986. To ensure you get your shirt in time, register before August 1st for a discounted rate of $25 for youth and $35 for adults; after that date, prices increase by $15.
In addition to the main event, children aged 3-17 are invited to participate in an exciting "fun run" starting at 9:00am. This kid-friendly race is designed to be a fun introduction to running and community spirit. All youth participants must have an adult present for waiver signing purposes.
