Saturday, September 26th, 2026 | Northfield Mountain Recreation Center 99 Millers Falls Rd, Northfield, MA 01360 www.bikereg.com/kilowattcross Experience the thrill of Kilowatt Cross as it returns for its third year. Nestled under the towering 1,143,000-kilowatt Northfield Mountain Power Station, this event offers a unique blend of natural beauty and intense competition. Participants can enjoy various outdoor activities throughout the year at the Northfield Recreation Center, including mountain biking, cross-country skiing, hiking, and exploring the nature center. Kilowatt Cross is part of the River Valley CX Series, featuring multiple races across western Massachusetts. Join forces with other cyclists in the series for a cumulative points challenge that includes Blunt Park (August 24), Hydra Cross (August 31), West Hill Cyclocross Race (September 20), and Tree House CX (October 19). The event is committed to inclusivity, welcoming all participants regardless of gender identity, age, race, religion, disability, or ethnic origin. Kilowatt Cross fosters a supportive environment for both seasoned professionals and first-time racers alike. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during the event, please approach an official or staff member. Food and beverages will be available throughout the day: - El Chapincito Food Truck: Offering delicious options from 11 AM to 4 PM - The Brewery at North Star Farms Pour Truck: Serving up refreshing beers from 11 AM to 4 PM First-time racers are encouraged to attend an introduction clinic on September 26th, starting at 8 AM. This session will familiarize you with the course and provide essential skills for a successful race day. We recommend using bikes equipped with wider tires—ideally over 35mm—to navigate the challenging terrain. Registration is open until Saturday, September 27th, by 12:00 PM ET at bikereg.com/kilowattcross. Limited to just 600 participants, early registration ensures a spot and saves you $10 compared to day-of registration (if spots remain). Additional races cost an extra $20. Warm up and course preview are available starting from 7 AM on Sunday. Pre-riding the course is permitted between races but not during active race times; always ride behind the last racer in your group. Parking will be provided on the grass lawn outside Northfield Mountain Power Station, with designated areas for event staff only. On-site camping is also offered at a fee of $30 per setup, located adjacent to the parking area. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must remain leashed throughout the grounds. Kids can enjoy their own free course all day long without needing registration or specific race times. Relay races will feature two-person teams switching every lap with no age restrictions beyond 9 years old. Register your team today and join in the excitement! USA Cycling licenses are required for participation, available as a one-day license during registration on BikeReg.com or usacycling.org. Results from this event can be found on CrossResults.com. Mark your calendar and prepare to conquer Kilowatt Cross!
